Great Information from Jordan Rubin

Advice for Healthy Living
Walk, Don't Run
The oldest physical activity of the human race can be simply expressed in one word — walking. One of Adam's first tasks was to care for God's garden: a job that required lots of walking. The longest-lived humans in history usually walked everywhere they went. They hunted wild game on foot, built shelters, trailed behind their animals and herds, and cultivated fields at an active pace each day with intermittent periods of rest. They knew nothing about aerobic exercise (which increases oxygen consumption), treadmills, or running tracks, but they were masters at anaerobic exercise — activities that incur an "oxygen debt" through briefly sustained exertion. Subsequent development of our species and the world has demanded even more walking.
Don't waste time looking for parking spots close to your destination — choose a spot far away and walk there. You're getting healthful exercise while you're doing an errand. Forget the elevators and escalators — take the stairs, or take a walk on the beach or to the corner store. Ride a bicycle, stroll through your neighborhood, and "walk the mall" when the weather doesn't cooperate with your exercise plans. A brisk two-mile walk (with long strides and vigorous arm movements) every day increases enzyme and metabolic activity and may increase caloric burning for up to 12 hours afterward!

Don't Overdo It!
Intense, continuous aerobic exercise can do your body more harm than good. Think of marathon runners, who often struggle with decreased disease resistance and chronic ligament and joint problems. Vigorous aerobics, through the stress it incurs, can lower your immune response and create oxidation, so stick to walking or other slower-paced exercises — and don't forget

Water and its Magic

Water is one of the most Beautiful things God Created in My Opinion

Read Loren Eisley description of Water;

If there is Magic on this Planet, it is contained in water Its substance reaches everywhere; it touches the past and prepares the future; it moves under the poles and wanders thinly in the heights of air.It can assume forms of exquisite perfection in a snowflake, or strip the living to a single shining bone cast up by the Sea

Water is essential for our Body, Mind and Spirit Connection

Try to drink half your body weight a day in water and you will see so many benefits;
More energy , Weight Loss , Better Skin , You won't be dehydrated , studies have shown you will even think clearer and have better eyesight....

The human body, which is made up of between 55 and 75 percent water (lean people have more water in their bodies because muscle holds more water than fat), is in need of constant water replenishment

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry on normal functions. Even mild dehydration - as little as a 1 percent to 2 percent loss of your body weight - can sap your energy and make you tired. Dehydration poses a particular health risk for the very young and the very old. Signs and symptoms of dehydration include:

Excessive thirst,Fatigue,Headache,Drymouth,Little or no urination,Muscle Weakness and much more......

Diabetes - Staying safely hydrated
Make a conscious effort to keep yourself hydrated and make water your beverage of choice. Nearly every healthy adult can consider the following:

Drink a glass of water with each meal and between each meal.

Take water breaks instead of coffee or tea breaks.

Substitute sparkling water for alcoholic drinks at social gatherings.

If you drink water from a bottle, thoroughly clean or replace the bottle often. Every time you drink, bacteria from your mouth contaminate water in the bottle. If you use a bottle repeatedly, make sure that the bottle is designed for reuse. To keep it clean, wash your container in hot, soapy water or run it through a dishwasher before refilling it.

Though uncommon, it's possible to drink too much water. Drinking excessive amounts can overwhelm your kidneys' ability to get rid of the water. This can lead to hyponatremia, a condition in which excess water intake dilutes the normal amount of sodium in the blood. People who are older, who have certain medical conditions such as congestive heart failure and cirrhosis, or who are taking certain diuretics are at higher risk of hyponatremia.

One problem we have is Pure water because of Pollution;

Of all the water in the world only 2.5% is fresh water. Two-thirds of the fresh water is in glaciers and ice caps. If you think of all the water in the world contained in a one-gallon jar, three-eighths cup would be fresh water and only two tablespoons of the fresh water would be available for human use. We use a lot of water. Raising one pound of beef requires 2000-2500 gallons of water. Raising one pound of corn only requires 100-250 gallons of water. Farmers who raise grains and vegetables using drip irrigation consume up to 40% less water than farmers with other systems of irrigation.

In Conclusion;
We can protect our water and keep it pure if everyone will work together. Remember, if we all do a little bit to help protect and preserve our natural resources, it will add up to a lot and then there will be plenty water for all.

So drink your water and help protect our natural resourses, buy a re-usable water safe bottle and a filter for your tap I can get one for you if your not sure what Brand is Best. Putting too much plastic in the enviroment is not good....

Healing Herbs and Oils

Todays Health Tip :
Healing Herb of the Week: Cinnamon

This delightful herb was part of the holy oil used to anoint the priests and vessels in the tabernacle of Moses (Exodus 30:22-25). It was also mentioned in setting the stage for romance (Proverbs 7:17-18). The ancient Chinese used cinnamon to treat health conditions as early as 2700 B.C.
Originally imported from India and Sri Lanka in biblical times, this herb has become one of America's favorite spices. It calms the stomach and may even prevent ulcers. Recent research indicates cinnamon contains benzaldehyde, an anti-tumor agent, along with antiseptic properties that kill the bacteria that cause tooth decay and disease-causing fungi and viruses. It may even prevent urinary tract infections (UTI) and infestations of candida. Dr. James A. Duke reports that USDA researchers discovered that cinnamon reduces the amount of insulin necessary for glucose metabolism in type 2 diabetes. One-eighth teaspoon of this herb triples insulin efficiency! (Warning: Although the substance is a powerful germicide, do not consume straight cinnamon oil. It may cause vomiting or kidney damage.)

The name cinnamon comes from Greek kinnámōmon, itself ultimately from Phoenician. The botanical name for the spice—Cinnamomum zeylanicum—is derived from Sri Lanka's former (colonial) name, Ceylon.
